A black kid in Baltimore was on house arrest for 7 months for a suspected carjacking and robbery and he was at school at the time taking the SAT. The state waited to dismiss the charges however they are refusing to expunge the arrest unless his family “let me check my notes 📝” doesn’t sue??? WTF

Sleep peacefully, America. ICE caught Sister Leticia Ugboaja walking to Sunday Mass.

She had a valid work permit, attended EVERY required immigration appointment and complied with EVERY condition of her court-ordered protection.

A nun. A nurse. Following the rules. Walking to church.

Thank God they got to her before she could receive Communion.

It took intervention from members of Congress to help secure her release. Apparently, a work permit and doing everything immigration officials require aren’t quite as effective as knowing someone in Congress.

So much for “do it the right way" hey MAGA????

Lindsey Isaacs, a 23-year-old from Palm Coast, Florida, testified about being thrown into solitary confinement for more than three days after a Flock license-plate camera wrongly tied her Dodge Durango to a deadly I-4 crash.

Jail staff told her she had to stay isolated because of how serious the charges were. The cell door stayed locked for about 86 hours.

She said she was terrified she would spend the rest of her life in prison for a wreck she knew she hadn’t caused.

At her lowest point she didn’t want to live. She spent nearly two weeks in maximum-security jail before prosecutors dropped the charges.

Flock should be sued out of existence for this.

A woman walked over to where Wilber Perez 28 was sitting in his car shot in the back. ICE removed him from his car to just handcuff him instead of waiting till the ambulance arrived.He was conscious & cooperating with ICE & was taken to hospital supposedly in stable condition after being boxed in by ICE while delivering food for Door Dash & then shot in the back.There were at least five shots counted as it happened on a live. ICE gives the same cookie cutter story as usual,but a woman driving by recorded it as it happened.

My friend took his 4-year-old daughter to Urgent Care on a Sunday for a high fever and a bad cough.

They were in the building for 35 minutes. A nurse took her vitals, and a doctor spent 4 minutes looking in her throat before prescribing generic amoxicillin.

The total bill came out to $1,240.

His insurance plan paid $180. The rest went straight to his "in-network deductible."

He called the billing department to ask how 4 minutes with a doctor costs $1,060 out of pocket.

The representative said: "That’s the pre-negotiated rate set by your insurer."

We built a healthcare system where paying $500 a month for coverage doesn't cover medical care…… it just buys you the right to be charged thousands for a 5-minute visit.

Four white men abducted a college student at gunpoint from a car outside a dance in 1959 and assaulted her.

Then something happened that had never happened in Florida: an all-white jury convicted all four of them.
Betty Jean Owens. Tallahassee.

She was a student at Florida A&M. Her three friends escaped and went straight to the police. Officers found the car and arrested the men that night — which was itself unusual.

The men confessed. And Betty Jean Owens did the thing the entire system was built to prevent: she testified, in open court, in front of them, and did not waver.

Florida A&M students shut the campus down and packed the courthouse every day of the trial.

All four were convicted and sentenced to life.
It was the first time in Florida's history that white men received life sentences for raping a Black woman.

She was 18 years old and she changed what was possible in that state by refusing to stay silent in a room full of men who assumed she would.

Betty's case was historic—but it also exposes how rarely Black women received that kind of justice for crimes committed against them.

He was driving his cousin's Jaguar through a Pittsburgh suburb at two in the morning. Police stopped him for braking oddly on a hill.

Within minutes he was face down under several officers. He suffocated on the road.

Jonny Gammage. October 1995. He was 31.

The car belonged to his cousin Ray Seals, a defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is the only reason this case got any coverage at all.

Five officers were involved. The coroner ruled it a homicide by asphyxiation. Three were charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Two trials ended in mistrials. The charges were eventually dismissed. A federal case failed.

Nobody was ever convicted of anything.

His last words, according to testimony, were: "Keith, Keith, I'm 31."

He said his own age out loud, on the ground, to a man he did not know — as if his age might work as an argument. As if there were still a version of the night where being 31 and unarmed was enough.
