It’s not all about the big machines, though. The sessions cover everything from Dark Matter and Cosmology to Quantum Computing and new detector tech. It's a massive week for the community to bridge theory and experiment. 🌌🧪 #HighEnergyPhysics#Research#Physics
The LIII International Meeting on Fundamental Physics starts today in Granada!
This is Spain’s longest-running symposium for high-energy physics, hosted at @CanalUGR.

There’s a lot on the table this week. We start with a dedicated session to the Spanish contribution to the FCC project, which is expected to become the next flagship project at CERN.
📢 The European RECFA visits Spain RECFA, a European particle physics advisory group, met in Spain to discuss the country's role in future accelerator projects. The visit highlighted Spain's growing contributions and the need for a long-term strategy: https://t.co/9614IUTFDj
New ERC in the group!
We are proud to announce that Mikael Chala has been awarded the Consolidator ERC Grant for his project PC-TP2 (Precise Computation of Thermal Phase Transition Parameters).

Congratulations Miki, very well deserved!
We would like to thank the Neutrino Group (@NeutrinosUGR ) at @CanalUGR, and especially Patricia, for an excellent tour of their laboratory. It was a great opportunity to learn about the development and testing of sensors for future neutrino experiments. #Physics#ResearchUGR
🗞️ The Spanish Network of Gravitational Wave Physics (REDONGRA) aims to coordinate Spain's contribution to gravitational wave science and to prepare the next generation of scientists for future missions like LISA and the Einstein Telescope.

✨Physics reach at future colliders
Jorge de Blas, from @ftae_ugr, @CanalUGR, is summarising the physics reach of future colliders on Higgs-EW-Top-QCD-BSM-Flavour physics at the ECFA plenary session of EPS-HEP 25 in Marseille, a conference with almost 800 participants!
Our former student Pablo Olgoso, now postdoc in Padua University, has been awarded the @RSEF_ESP prize to the best PhD thesis in particle physics (theory) defended in Spain in 2023. Congratulations! This is the second (consecutive) time that the prize comes to @CanalUGR.
Next, Jorge will join a select group of international experts to help write the Physics Briefing Book—the key scientific document that will guide the CERN Council in shaping the Third Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics.
Big decisions ahead. Stay tuned!
Deciding the future of particle physics.
Venice Symposium on the European Strategy for Particle Physics
Today, Jorge de Blas (@ftae_ugr, @CanalUGR) presented the work he has lead on the potential of future colliders.
https://t.co/RJ1OV9WURi
This marks a major milestone in a long-term effort by the particle physics community to evaluate how future colliders can deepen our understanding of the Standard Model—and potentially reveal what lies beyond.
Big thanks to Andrea Sanfilippo (@TU_Muenchen ) for last Tuesday ’s insightful talk on Effective field theory in de Sitter space and the method of regions. Great discussion and a pleasure to host you! 🌌🧠
