A couple of weeks ago, our team attended the National Advocacy Conference run by the Student Association for STEM Advocacy (SASA). We met with many senators and representatives to push for increased STEM funding for schools nationwide. Thank you SASA for such a great experience!
This weekend we competed in the FIRST Chesapeake Remote 2 tournament. This was our first ever remote event - a big thank you to @FIRSTChesapeake for ensuring that things ran so smoothly. We are extremely grateful to have advanced to the FIRST Northern District Championship!
Congrats to the students of our 2020 Virtual Summer Camps! Today marks the end of their 5 week journey into the advanced concepts of CAD w/ Fusion 360 and Arduino C++/electronics! We're so proud of them, and we're excited to be showcasing their final projects in the coming days!
Only a week ago, during the 4th week of our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps, our Arduino camp students completed their freeform project! Using their new knowledge of code & electrical design, they were able to make cool, complex digital "instruments"! (8/8)
In the penultimate (4th) week of our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps, our CAD camp students really let their skills in Fusion 360 shine as they learned how to use imported parts to create even more complex CAD models and assemblies! (7/8)
Next up in our stroll down memory lane in week 3 of our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps - our Arduino Camp students learned how to integrate their C++ coding skills w/ their circuits in TinkerCAD! The result? Some pretty cool mini-project experiments! (6/8)
Fast forward to the 3rd week of our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps, and our CAD students have started working with joints to create basic assemblies! After this week's classes, the expertise that our students have shown is nothing short of amazing! (5/8)
There was some serious learning during the 2nd week of our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps - our Arduino Camp students took on the challenge of working with the basics of the Arduino microcontroller while completing their first experiments in TinkerCAD! (4/8)
Moving on to week 2 of our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps! We have wonderful memories as our CAD camp students dove into the world of 3D modeling, creating their first 3D models from scratch in Fusion 360! Here are some examples of their amazing handiwork! (3/8)
As we reflect on the past few weeks our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps, we'd like to showcase some student achievements from week 1 of our Arduino camps! We're so proud of our students and all they have accomplished over these past 5 weeks! (2/8)
After an eventful 5 weeks hosting our 2020 (CAD & Arduino C/C++) Virtual Summer Camps, we're ready for our final class tomorrow! As we prepare for the conclusion to these delightful weeks, we'd like to look back on student accomplishments from the 1st week of CAD camps! (1/8)
Last night we were so honored to be recognized by @FCPSR2 and @RyanLMcElveen with @TJAnnB for our World Championship performance. We are so greatful for the support! #firstrobotics#FTC#FCPS
TJ's Robot Uprising team honored by FCPS School Board for achievement at 2019 world championship. Congrats to team and Coach dela Cuesta! Thanks @RyanLMcElveen @FCPSR2
Thank you @RepWexton for meeting with us today!! The meeting was a fantastic experience and we hope that we can continue to further the discussion of STEM and FIRST on a national level! #FIRSTNAC2019#FIRST#advocacy
It was such an amazing experience to meet with @timkaine ‘s staff to discuss STEM advocacy! Thank you and we cannot wait to continue the discussion! #FIRSTNAC2019
