On Ray Peat & Schopenhauer
According to Schopenhauer, each individual is an expression of a (blind) Will to turn out as the perfect human, the Platonic Idea of a human materialized.
We were all meant to be perfect; full of beauty, intelligence and all other things the perfect human would be.
The only reason we don't, says Schopenhauer, is because we cannot gather all the right matter for this perfect form to materialize. We have to battle the limitations put on us by nature.
In this way Schopenhauer and Ray Peat seem to overlap. If we can provide the body with all the energy it needs, it will produce the structure it 'wants'.
Two very concrete examples of this in real life:
- When a pregnant woman has high vitamin K2, the face of her child will develop better & thus more beautifully.
- When progesterone levels are high in a pregnant woman, her child will be born with a high IQ.
We are all material expressions of a perfect Idea or Form, turning out botched because of lost battles against nature.
