"Almost 82% of women in their prime working years had jobs in November, the most on record, suggesting the combination of a tight labour market and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s subsidized daycare plan have combined to close longstanding gender gaps."

It’s official, everyone. As of today, we’ve signed agreements with every province and territory to make child care more affordable. That’s good news for you, your kids, your career, and for our economy. More on that:
We’re cutting child care fees in half by the end of the year for families across Ontario – and making $10-a-day child care a reality within four years. For more on how we’re helping parents save thousands of dollars each year, click here: https://t.co/lTrOkEMRRR
Members of Parliament may share different opinions on legislation or policy. We all have a responsibility to use our words judiciously as elected officials.
In this moment of national emergency we must all seek ways to deescalate the situation for the safety of all Canadians.
I am glad to have met with Minister @karinagould today to discuss Métis priorities on child & family services, particularly the Métis Nation Early Learning & Child Care Framework. I look forward to ongoing discussions on how to best support Métis children & families #CdnPoli
'We're not intimated by those who hurl abuse at small business workers & steal food from the homeless.
We won’t give in to those who fly racist flags.
We won’t cave to those who engage in vandalism, or dishonour the memory of our veterans.' -- PM @JustinTrudeau
Say it with me now: affordable, accessible, inclusive childcare is good for our kids, good for families and especially good for our economy.
So while the Conservatives urge us to stop talking about childcare...we will always stand up for Canadian families and our economy.
We signed our child care agreement with Saskatchewan just over 3 months ago.
Today, it is the first province to reach the goal of achieving a 50% on average reduction in child care fees.
This is great news for families across the province. #ELCC
Today’s agreement with Alberta will:
✅ Reduce child care fees to $10 a day by 2026;
✅ Create 42,500 new child care spaces among licensed not-for-profit, public & family-based child care providers; and,
✅ Make life more affordable for #AB families.
I am keen to get a childcare agreement signed, sealed and delivered for Ontario families that centres around affordable and quality care.
With $10B on the table, we will help families with the costs of childcare, support decent wages for ECEs, and increase the number of spaces.
Canada welcomes the @WHO’s approval of the world’s first effective malaria vaccine – an important step in worldwide efforts to #EndMalaria for good.

Congratulations @JustinTrudeau on securing a third mandate — we at UNHCR trust that under your leadership Canada 🇨🇦 will continue to be a strong, engaged and innovative humanitarian leader, and a global champion for refugees and forcibly displaced people.
1/2 🇨🇦 is deeply concerned about the deteriorating situation in #Afghanistan, including the potential collapse of financial and social systems, and the devastating impact this would have on the most vulnerable, especially women and girls.
We must act urgently with our partners.
Very disturbed that O’Toole looked Canadians in the eye during the Leaders’ debate and deliberately mislead them on national TV.
We will not tax the sale of your primary residence.
But I’m not surprised since Mr. O’Toole has been misleading Canadians on his gun policy.
Spoke to @PMaurerICRC who is just back from #Afghanistan and who provided me with a candid and thoughtful assessment of the situation on the ground.
Canada will work with trusted partners to deploy $50 million in humanitarian aid to Afghans.
Had a very good conversation with @DMiliband on the political and humanitarian situation in #Afghanistan.
Canada is working closely with partners such as @RESCUEorg to provide support to Afghan refugees and to protect women and girls.
