Those people in the comment section defending the government for charging GH¢65,000 in duty on a GH¢25,000 car are the same people who go to a car dealership and scream, “You’re greedy for selling a 2011 Corolla for GH¢100,000.” Imagine that dealer staying up until midnight trying to find a cheaper car so the majority of Ghanaians can afford one, dealing with the stress of shipping it, and then, after it arrives in the country, the government, which is supposed to make things more affordable, charges over 150% of the car’s purchase price in duties and overage penalties. They know that more than 97% of the people cannot afford cars that are less than 10 years old.

Whatever you defend in the name of your political party affects you every day.
