It’s so easy for you guys to derail from what is important, but it’s not surprising. In a case of infidelity and domestic abuse/assault, one is a crime, while the other is a betrayal of trust between two people and the vows they made to each other. One should be your concern as a member of society, the other really shouldn’t be.

But the deliberate or inadvertent fixation on the infidelity, at the expense of the actual crime committed—domestic abuse/assault, is a reflection of what is truly important to you. It is also an indictment of your values as a human being.
