NEWS: Chris Johnston on OverDrive said he heard from a member from one NHL team that they would give up more for Matthew Knies than Auston Matthews 👀 #LeafsForever
The CFL playoff changes and announcement -was/is an absolute failure.
Anyone trying to defend it or rationalize it. Isn’t doing so in good faith (or is clueless).
As far as the change itself:
I love the idea of trying to create revenue, but not at the expense of sacrificing the purity of competition. 8/9 teams making the playoffs is unacceptable in a professional sports league. And although seeding matters, it heavily devalues the regular season. The CFL is a league that struggles with its public perception in certain provinces, this is going to continue those perceptions and perhaps make them even worse now.
As for the announcement of it:
On draft day? You gotta be kidding me. A day that should be celebrated by the football community across the country is instead overshadowed by this announcement. Coupled with the fact that the website crashed, so no one really understood what was happening in the later rounds, created a devastating effect.
The CFL draft, if executed properly, could organically grow and eventually be a huge asset in helping build the leagues brand and changing its perception. Instead the polar opposite occurred.
Final thoughts:
Where is all the outrage from the players/coaches that were so outspoken about the incoming rule changes at? I guess a couple extra guaranteed bucks and they will gladly endorse American ideology.
‘Don’t build the best product, build the one that pays the fastest’ … doesn’t get much more American than that!
Maple Leafs just had a GM whose Dad owns Boston Pizza.
They have interest in a guy who owns 61 Wendy's.
What's Ronald McDonald up to these days? He'd be a perfect fit to run thIs clown show.
Dodgers put ass to belt against the Blue Jays in their first matchup since the World Series and then puts in the motherfcker who crushed Toronto's dreams to close as a position-player is pretty sad but also pretty fucking hilarious
"Let’s start with the obvious: there is no bad time to be a patron at Augusta National. It is the most coveted ticket in all of sports. No other event has a yearly tradition where thousands mourn their ticket lottery rejection email. For the lucky patrons who get to make their way inside the gates, their time on the grounds becomes a pilgrimage of sorts, venturing into a spiritual experience for some.
"You can count me as one of the lucky ones. I won the lottery back in 2017 and have had the privilege of covering the Augusta National Women’s Amateur the past four years. While it’s true that any time spent on the course is time well spent, I’d like to nominate early Saturday morning of the final round at ANWA as the best time to experience the course as a patron. Some may argue that you can’t beat Sunday at the Masters energy or the feel-good vibes of Wednesday’s Par 3 Contest, but in terms of seeing Augusta National, of taking in all it has to offer, the quiet and calm of the early hours at ANWA’s final round are unmatched."

The Maple Leafs are on pace to set the lowest attendance average in the history of their time at Scotiabank Arena 😳
With just 18,607 fans appearing per night, it would be the lowest average mark for Toronto outside of the COVID seasons since 2018.
