@FPTPMoments@at0mat@Prominent_Bryan so after the annual 2-5% tax they are going to be flat to losing 3% net wealth a year IF they can earn 10% a year on their investments....say goodbye to their tax revenues
@FPTPMoments@at0mat@Prominent_Bryan ok so a billionaire is going to forgoe year 1 200 million for the good of his government...market conditions they earn 10% on their asset before tax..after tax capital gains rate 30% less so say 6%....inflation runs 3-4% so that leaves them with 2% annual gains before gov tax
@FPTPMoments@at0mat@Prominent_Bryan ure suggesting a 5-20% instant hit is "modest" PLUS a annual 2-5% tax afterwards... and you think billionaires will happily pay this vs have a house in low tax province/state with a house in bc to enjoy 6 months of the year. no billionaire will accept this
@at0mat@Prominent_Bryan Why not tax them 100 percent then and just pay off the entire provincial debt...reset..dumbest kogiv I've heard from greens..should be encouraging billionaires to comes move to province rather than chasing them away potentially
@at0mat@Prominent_Bryan It's not defending its si.ple math..why wouldn't they buy a house in more favorable tax location and just keep bc home in a company etc...they have the options and the loss of their tax revenue is detrimental..remember the top 10 percent pay like 90 percent of entire gov taxes
