My heart goes out to our dear Kenyans who have lost lives and property in the devastating floods that have affected Nairobi and its environs this weekend. At this difficult and painful moment in your lives, I stand with you and offer my most sincere condolences and comfort.
It is deeply painful and heartbreaking to lose human life and property during the ongoing rains, especially at a time when many Kenyans are already grappling with harsh economic realities.
This disaster could have been mitigated through a proactive, sustained, and genuine commitment by the responsible authorities, rather than the knee-jerk reactions we often witness after tragedy has already struck.
As we urge caution and adherence to advisories issued by the Meteorologists, it is prudent that urgent and practical measures be taken to support affected Kenyans and their families beyond mere statements and ordinary promises.
A government that cares should not spare any effort or its resources in protecting the lives and property of its people.
Action must be timely, decisive, and genuine.
At the same time, proper development planning for our cities, towns, and Kenya at large must address the realities of climate change, rapid population growth, and economic development; not short-term political interests and glory.
We must all remember that Kenya is our motherland, and safeguarding it is our greatest responsibility to future generations.
We cannot bury our heads in the sand and dismiss the impact of climate change when its consequences are already with us.
I call for proactive and efficient measures into the future, including the engagement of professionals and experts who should be allowed to perform their duties free from political interference and rhetoric.
The National Government and the Nairobi City County Government must move with speed to provide evacuation support, emergency shelters, drainage clearance, relief food distribution, provision of medical care, and timely public information.
I urge all Kenyans to exercise maximum care in the rainy season and check on one another and to share verified and helpful information on weather conditions and emergencies, especially during this rainy season.
To those who are able to house, clothe, or feed our affected brothers and sisters, please do not hesitate to extend your support.
We are one nation, and we are all Kenyans.
I wish a quick recovery to those who have been injured and adversely affected.
May Almighty God grant eternal rest to the souls of our departed brothers and sisters, and may perpetual light shine upon them forever.
I used to think that if you got a partner and they tell you a thing like this, your first thoughts should be “the second party getting tf up to the hôpital and get themselves checked up, but she’s acting like someone who had nothing to do with him.
And for me, it looks like she’s aware she got this and just needed to get that young man in a life threatening situation.
She didn’t report to them, she posted this until Nigerians authorities took over the situation to try find who was responsible for this.
From the reviews of her friends one of them stated “Mirabel didn’t know the video was gonna go viral” and it did.
Mirabel is a human and humans tend to feel good about having to get more engagement, which is what made Mirabel post more videos as probably she thinks it was right for her to make such allegations on socials, knowing that millions of people go through sexual a$sault and abuse in the world atm.
POV I do not support false allegations and whatever Mirabel did., but if she had a reason for doin’ all of this, all we ask is for her to make an apology to herself and to Nigeria and admit she was wrong.
I also pray she finds the help she needs x
