I'm immediately hiring a Scala developer at @zivergetech. 👀
You should be able to start soon and probably be located in Eastern Europe. ⏲️
You'll own microservices end-to-end, and ship production code with Scala effect systems. 🚀
We are looking for Haskell developers in Stockholm! Do you have prior industrial experience with Haskell or any other functional programming language? Then you should apply for this position! DM us or apply at the link below!
See below for how to apply and more details 👇
Since a lot of programming meetup groups went under during COVID, I wrote an article about how to host a meetup—hopefully it can inspire someone to get started! Link in comments 👇
Singing a contract and backing out a few days before the starting date is not good for your reputation and potentially career. Just saying.
Anyway, anyone looking for a Scala job? I hope someone who already got through the process will still be interested but I can probably sneak in a person or two into the process.
Kyo is a compositional wonderland; a taste of a more sublime parallel world or, perhaps, the near future. Incredible work, @fwbrasil, @adamhearn, et al!
Composition without Compromise™ 😜
Have you successfully pitched functional programming to any C# / Java devs? I’m going to have a talk about F# to a mainly C# audience and I would like to do my best to get them interested in FP. Any advice?
Does anyone know Gina Maini? Her #fsharp talks were amazing for me. Now she wrote an article for making a snake game (https://t.co/NVwaRUtOt2). Does anybody know her? If so, maybe she wants to make an AI-Snake for a 24x24 pixel display (https://t.co/jMxkoYOkZ3). This might be FUN + 🎁
My journey to #fsharp? TL;DR:
Started developing the app showed in this video 👉 https://t.co/HsX34JG4H0 , hitting the limits of #csharp, then wrapping my head around F#’s Computation Expressions (yes, that was actually my intro to F#), and finally realizing this: F# is incredibly “on-point” (meaning: less stuff, but more) — super versatile, but without the usual obfuscation that comes along with it, and: Very, very joyful.
The coolest part? It felt like a natural extension of what I already knew from #dotnet, but it also gave me the tools to level up in ways I didn’t think were possible (even though I already the best C# dev on the planet 🙃). Honestly, it’s the kind of “boost” that feels just a bit… dangerously overconfident 😎
And the big takeaway from all of it?
I probably should’ve stuck with making videos...
Cheers!
