🚀 Knack Packaging IPO – The Real Story 🧵
This is not just another packaging IPO. It’s a 30-year journey of innovation and steady profit growth.
1️⃣ Humble Beginning
Started in 1994 as a small family business making basic woven bags for cement and fertilizers. Tough competition and long working hours were normal.
2️⃣ The Smart Innovation
They moved beyond ordinary bags. Created printed laminated bags for premium brands and developed special pinch-bottom technology that prevents fake products and allows beautiful multi-side printing. This became their highest profit segment.
3️⃣ Fun Fact 🎉
The name “Knack” comes from a German word meaning “careful and peaceful weaving”. It was suggested by the founder’s uncle almost 30 years ago!
4️⃣ What Management Shared
Chairman Alpesh Patel said in recent interviews that customer repeat orders are 90-95%. They installed solar and wind power that now covers over 60% of electricity needs. This helped margins expand significantly.
5️⃣ Future Guidance from Management
They are using IPO money mainly for capacity expansion as demand is strong. Focus will be on more high-margin innovative products, new applications, and global growth (they already have a JV in Mexico). They want to build long-term value for shareholders.
6️⃣ The Numbers
Revenue: ₹518 Cr (FY23) → ₹824 Cr (FY26)
Profit: ₹20 Cr → ₹93 Cr
EBITDA Margin: 10.6% → 20.4%
ROE remains healthy above 35%
7️⃣ IPO & My Honest View
Opens 1–3 July | Price ₹161–170 | Modest GMP \~7%
This is a real transformation story with innovation, margin growth, and clear expansion plans. Suitable for long-term investors (3+ years). Not ideal for quick listing gains.

Tomorrow's big one: SBI Funds Management lists on NSE/BSE 🔔
Issue price ₹574 → GMP suggesting ~₹675
That's ~17-18% listing gain if grey market holds.
AMC business + SBI parentage + 41x subscription = decent setup, but IPO day volatility can swing either way in the first hour.

📊 Caliber Mining & Logistics IPO opens on 17 July.
A company that digs coal and also transports it.
Here’s everything you need to know — A thread 👇🧵
Nifty closed 96 pts lower at 24,238 today 📉
But the real story is under the hood:
🔴 Pvt banks & financials — bleeding (HDFC Bank -5% on weak margins)
🟢 PSU banks — outshining, holding ground
Market rotating out of the "safe" pvt bank trade into PSUs.
Is this a genuine re-rating or just a one-day wobble?

Buffett is calling out speculation over investing. When crowds act like punters and bid up stocks without caring about fair value, prices get inflated — leaving little margin of safety for real value investors.
Key takeaway: In such markets, patience beats FOMO. The opportunities come when the crowd eventually cools off. Discipline > chasing.
KOSPI's 30%+ drop from highs shows leverage's brutal math.
3x exposure turns a 30% market move into ~90% portfolio loss. Recovering from 90% requires a 900%+ gain.
Margin calls don't wait for your thesis—they force liquidation at the worst moment.
Size positions to survive, not to maximize upside.
Appreciate the feedback, Tanay.
I do use AI tools to help structure and polish the writing (like many others now). The core point is still based on HDFC’s reported NIM of 3.26%, the gap between repeated guidance and actual delivery, and ICICI’s better margin resilience.
Happy to discuss the deposit cost or yield drag if you have a different view on the numbers.
Lohia Corp IPO is a pure OFS of ₹1,102 Cr — no fresh capital for the company.
Strong fundamentals though: ~80% India market share in woven raffia machinery + exports to 90+ countries. FY26 profit jumped 64% to ₹193 Cr on 25% revenue growth.
Retail portion is just 10%. At ₹404-425, the key question is whether valuations are reasonable after promoter selling. Good niche business, but OFS needs fair pricing
@RakJhun HDFC Bank sold off on Q1 NIM compression & mild asset quality pressure. But 14.7% YoY deposit growth shows the core franchise remains solid. At current levels with analyst targets up to ₹1050 (34% upside), this looks like a quality dip for long-term fundamental investors.
Q1 results prove the point perfectly. While HDFC, Axis & Kotak face pressure despite all the conference call gyan, ICICI delivered clean growth through steady core banking execution and customer focus. Franchise strength > fee income obsession. Markets eventually reward quiet compounding over loud narratives
SBI Funds Management | GMP ₹97 📊
₹100 is the psychological barrier. Market was indifferent early on, but last 2 days saw traction.
Will it hit triple digits before listing?

💡 The read :
Millworks spread has narrowed to ₹390 (from the wide ₹297-400 range yesterday). Still a monster premium, but now cleaner into listing tomorrow. The 219x book was real — tomorrow we see if the market agrees with the quote.
Caliber steady at ₹116 into its final day. No major movement over the weekend. Closes tomorrow. QIB interest on the last afternoon will decide how strong the listing actually is.
Sotefin enters its last session today at ₹13. Low and fading — the classic warning sign we’ve been tracking.
Gulf Lloyds opens today with GMP improved to ₹25. Better start than earlier whispers.
Indo-MIM is the standout mover — GMP jumped sharply to ₹210 after the price band dropped. Strong conviction building ahead of 23 July.
Today: Sotefin closes + Gulf Lloyds opens.
Tomorrow: Millworks + SBI list, Caliber closes. Busy next 48 hours.
Grey market is now fully focused on the next cluster (Indo-MIM, Xtranet, Lohia, Manipal).
⚠️ GMP is unofficial & volatile. Not a recommendation. DYOR
