Maomao started this new season without losing the rhythm. From the first chapter, that mix of mystery, palace rarities, and situations where you know she's going to end up sticking her nose in is back.
And that's exactly the good thing: it still feels like always, but without seeming repetitive.

⭕️ Why could Pairin breastfeed Maomao if she has never had children? #apothecarydiaries
When Maomao was born, Pairin was 15 years old and had just become a midwife, becoming one of her main caregivers, before Loumen adopted her.
Pairin has always had a high libido, and she has a condition called Galactorrea: a condition where a woman produces milk that is not related to pregnancy or lactation due to having children.
This can be due to several reasons, including high levels of a hormone called prolactin, secondary hormonal alterations due to the use of certain medications such as contraceptives, endocrine problems, physical overstimulation of the breasts, or other idiopathic causes, meaning the cause is unknown.
Galactorrea exists in real life, so the author took this concept and adapted it in Pairin, not specifically mentioning why she has galactorrea, but it is most likely due to hormonal alterations, and the hyperstimulation of her breasts while providing services as a midwife further enhances her already existing, already high libido.
That's why Pairin is able to breastfeed naturally from her adolescence, despite never having been pregnant, and could be Maomao's maternal and nursing figure.
