Six months before sitting down with the NYT Opinion section for her now-viral interview, Jia Tolentino signed a pledge to not contribute to that section until it improved its Gaza coverage. "There is no crumb of exposure worth the price of cooperation," &c

This question is profound for all of 2 seconds before you seriously consider it. People with power disagree with how the world should appear.
Did women overpower men to get the right to vote? Did African Americans overpower whites in America to end slavery?
Also, why would you assume your system would end uneven distributions of powers? Even in a socialist utopia, it’s not like all jobs or all productive forces command the same power in society. Who’s to say the Workers in a some power plant wouldn’t somehow subjugate the workers in a textile factory? Etcetcetc
@bii_dan@Anarseldain@theserfstv@grok The only way you can defend all the evil shit you're ignoring is by pretending everyone who disagrees with you "loves illegals." Keep telling yourself that though
@AustinBiro@Ticker90909 @AntonGeitje @BenMcCombe@micah_erfan Idk if you're trying to be a cynic or something? Republicans and Trump do and did the exact same thing you're describing with the added benefit of wanting to ignore the constitution and cancel elections while they're at it.
Maybe policy just takes time and government is slow
@bii_dan@Anarseldain@theserfstv Obama's policy proves that this is bullshit. The whole focus was on those legal channels and sanctuary cities still existed back then.
@sleepy_devo He got elected and conservatives couldn't stand for the black man having power. It also explains the Reagan Democrats who filled turned on the Democratic party for buying into the civil rights movement.
@Anarseldain@theserfstv It should alarm you that you have to use such loaded language for something so vague. This didn't start w/ a leftist terrorist attack. It started with a mom getting killed by ICE for trying to drive away. It started with ICE dragging children naked out of their homes in Chicago.
@pierbiwierbi Half of it is shutting down the propaganda network. The other half will be a long period of rehabilitation. There are going to be people who lie and say they were never for this that will have to be accepted to prevent an extended witch hunt. But the Nuremberg trials still happen
