An incredible success story. So many we must thank, from staff & volunteers to our amazing visitors & partners, who all gave the charity their support and vision - thank you all and Happy Birthday @HaynesMuseum
Today the Museum turns 37! It's made quite the transformation so far, from first opening on the 10th of July in 1985, starting with a collection of around 30 vehicles to now being the UK's largest collection of cars and bikes!
It was a great day. Thank you to the OS & Sutton Valence School for pulling such an eclectic mix together - everything from armoured cars to electric scooters with a parade lap around the cricket pitch during lunch. Relaxed and informal - just the way it should be!
On Sunday 19th June our Chair of Trustees, Christopher Haynes, was invited back to his and John Haynes' old school, to judge the “John Haynes Best in Show Cup” at the Sutton Valence School Car Show. Chris awarded the Cup to a 1966 Jaguar E-Type S1 4.2ltr owned by Marie Clarke.
Day two of Volunteers’ Week: Room Guide Volunteers
Our friendly Room Guide Volunteers share the stories of our collections with visitors. They teach visitors about the history of the vehicles and objects on display and are more than happy to answer questions about the collection.
