Just to clarify a few things on the post yesterday:
1) the players on the Irish women's basketball team are all adults, and have all been to college; none are children.
2) the Irish team is comprised of paid professionals players, not kids.
3) the Irish team initially objected to playing Israel because the game was to be held in Israel during a conflict, and there were travel restrictions.
4) Israel suggested playing the game in Dublin. The Irish team said if you come here we won't guaranty your safety. A single Israeli guard on the team said she was disappointed that the Irish team was getting involved in politics and thought it was antisemitic.
5) FIBA moved the game to Latvia, at which time the Irish team said they didn't want to play the Jewish team. FIBA said if you don't play you forfeit and loose your money. The Irish team said they can't loose their money.
6) So, instead of playing as they should, they engaged in unsportmanlike conduct to protest politics.

The team and it's sponsors should be told it is unacceptable.
