35-year-old actress Daveigh Chase from Ring and Lilo & Stitch died a few days ago, and the story is much darker and sadder.
Apparently she had lived the last few years homeless, drug addiction, in an RV on skid row in Los Angeles with her boyfriend.
Absolutely heartbreaking.
A farmer went to market to sell his horse for $2,000, and a man agreed to buy it.
The farmer told him he would deliver the horse in a week.
Unfortunately, halfway through the week, the horse died.
The farmer went to the buyer and said, “I’m sorry, but the horse has died. I’ll give you your money back.”
To the farmer’s surprise, the man replied, “No, that’s okay. I’ll still take the horse.”
A week later, the farmer ran into the man and asked, “Whatever happened to that dead horse?”
The man smiled and said, “I raffled it off.”
“You raffled off a dead horse?”
“Sure did. I sold tickets for $50 each for a chance to win a horse. A hundred people entered, so I collected $5,000.”
The farmer stared at him in disbelief.
“Wasn’t anyone upset when they found out the horse was dead?”
“Just one person,” said the man, “the winner.”
“What did you do?”
“I refunded his $50.”
