Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) should be abolished as cultures, norms or traditions, it’s an act that posses only disadvantages and risks

It’s shocking to find out about 20 million women and girls in Nigeria have undergone Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

FGM is not a culture, it is violence. We need to work together to protect our girls and #EndFGM.

Female circumcision is illegal, barbaric, dangerous, and vile. Stop circumcising Female children and speak up against it. There are no benefits of FGM only disadvantages, terrible ones. Let's end Female Genital Mutilation today! And allow girls to grow as they should. #EndFGM

Consequently, there are a lot of demerits flowing from FGM, to mention a few:
• Health Risks
• Psychological Trauma
• Violation of Rights
Ending FGM requires a collective effort from individuals, communities, policymakers, and organizations.
