i don't think people understand that heterophobia doesn't work in the same way that homophobia does.

there are countries where same sex marriage isn't even legal, places where being queer can literally get you imprisoned or killed. yet some of you are comparing this to straight people getting called a few mean names.

you don't have to come out to your parents as a straight person and fear the consequences if they don't accept you. you don't have to second guess holding your partner's hand in public and wonder if that'd be a safe idea.

Artist told purchaser via professional channels they don't draw queer art for religious reasons.

Commissioner shares that information to his fanbase so they know that this artist does not do queer art.

Person saves artist the effort of having to tell people 'I don't draw queer people' by doing so, and somehow this qualifies as public shaming?

I'm struggling to see where the public shaming comes into it. They didn't insult the artist or say 'go attack this person' or 'look at this horrible individual whoo boy I hope they gets it'.

They said 'I cant recommend this person for queer art I guess??'

Business exchanges are not entitled to privacy, especially when discussing business policies that should be front facing and written on their damn terms of service.

It's no longer a private personal opinion when it dictates who you will and won't do business with.
