@terry50kaufman @besttrousers @blair_fix @nntaleb Yeah I'm confused by that, my understanding is that you can reach r-sq of ~0.4/0.5 with random variables, not sure how the very low p-value makes it any more valid? Does it mean the model describes the data very well...but there's no better than random correlation?

For example it excludes fatal shootings, call-outs for domestic abuse, and situations where there was no arrest or detainment...
