People don't know what Sam Cooper has endured as a consequence of his whistleblowing journalism, and someday, somebody (me perhaps) will sit down and write that story.
Sam deserves every bit of recognition and success he receives. Without him Canadians and the world at large would never know what is actually happening around us, and I have it on good authority from a number of insiders that Sam and The Bureau are a major factor in the Trump administration's discovery of Chinese spy and subversion operations in the US.
Every generation has their pivotal journalists and Sam Cooper is one of ours. I'm proud to call him a frequent collaborator but even moreso, a friend. He sacrificed a lucrative career in mainstream journalism to tell the truth, and his name will be etched into the history books because of it.
If you don't own Wilful Blindness yet, buy it. It's a gateway to the real world.
Beijing's Trojan Horse Rolls Into Canada: A National-Security Scholar Warns Carney's Chinese EV Deal Embeds Sabotage Risk in the Country's Roads, Ports and Grids https://t.co/odiGio8sVf
It’s about setting a floor on condo prices sold to Chinese buyers and assisting party donors. Anyone that believes this will move affordability? Can you explain why the unsold supply in massively rezoned and built out Vancouver hasn’t made homes connect with Canadian incomes?
The Bureau has learned Canada’s government in fact does have police documents that identify serious corruption involving Chinese transnational crime in B.C. that should have been relevant to the Cullen Commission, according to a general description of a specific intelligence record from a federal source that asked not to be identified due to sensitivity of the matter.
The source specified this document from B.C.’s anti-illegal gaming unit (JIGIT) is dated April 16, 2019, and was provided for B.C.’s then Attorney General, David Eby.
The sensitive report is classified “Protected B” the federal source said. The classification means if some of JIGIT’s intelligence became public it could cause “serious injury to an individual, organization or government.”
The Bureau’s legal efforts to obtain a redacted version or some official response regarding this alleged April 2019 document from the RCMP and British Columbia’s government have so far been unsuccessful.

In fall 2008, during the global credit crunch, mayor Sam Sullivan gave a closed-door, $100 million bailout to Millennium … anger over the controversial bailout figured heavily in the rise to power of Gregor Robertson https://t.co/Gy9EIF686D
@bobmackin digs for the records on Liberal fundraisers relevant to this bailout— some of these names may be worth scrutinizing- ‘Speaking of friends, insiders and lobbyists
Carney was the featured guest when condo marketer Bob Rennie hosted Liberal fundraisers in February 2025 and February 2026.
The latter came the month after Carney went to Beijing and announced a strategic partnership with Communist China.
Attendees included a who’s who of top executives from Vancouver real estate players: Aquilini, Concord Pacific, Holborn, Intergulf, Larco, Mosaic, MST, Nch’kay, Onni, Pacific Reach, Peterson, Polygon, Pinnacle, Reliance, Strand, Sutton Group, Thind, Wall and Westbank
Also the industry’s lobby group, Urban Development Institute, and media-shy Whitecaps owner and real estate investor Greg Kerfoot.
Back in 2014, Rennie famously promoted a $25,000-a-plate luncheon for Robertson’s mayoral re-election campaign. Until 2017, B.C. had no limit on the size of political donations.
The co-organizer of Carney’s 2025 and 2026 visits to Rennie?

Confederation of Tomorrow survey, finds 67% of Canadians are not confident that public servants and governments can spend taxpayers’ money wisely.
QUESTION: WHAT THE HECK ARE THE OTHER 33% THINKING? COVID-19 Benefits - $14 Billion to ineligible recipients.
Arrive Can $60 Million (original budget $80,000) - Phoenix Pay System $5.1 billion (AG calls it "unfathomably incompetent") - TransMountain Pipeline original private sector budget $4.5B to $34B.

Granular knowledge of how the Vancouver Condo Kings are the major supporters of people like Gregor Robertson, Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney was my past reporting beat. I’m not going back to it, other reporters need to pick that up. Read JWR’s chapter about meeting Trudeau in his friend’s pent house to understand who Carney is bailing out. I can say the Chinese money behind all these Liberals makes the story so much worse than a Liberal bail out of slick developers. This is scandalous and nationally ruinous.

Over the past week I travelled more than 3,000 kilometres across British Columbia, spending over 40 hours on the road speaking with people affected by addiction, homelessness, crime, failed policies, and economic hardship. I travelled through Vancouver, Abbotsford, Hope, Merritt, Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Smithers, Salmon Arm, and Prince George to hear the stories many politicians and media outlets refuse to cover.
I want to thank the Mayor of Kamloops, MLA David Williams, frontline workers, and especially the families who welcomed me in and trusted me with their stories of loss, grief, and heartbreak caused by addiction and toxic drugs. As difficult as some of these interviews were to capture, I felt honoured to sit, listen, and help bring their voices to my viewers.
One story that will stay with me is Cassie, a 23-year-old woman in Prince George who moved into supportive housing hoping to rebuild her life. Instead, she says she found overdoses, open drug use, and an environment where addiction was easier to support than recovery.
Over the next week I’ll be releasing raw interviews and footage from across BC so Canadians can hear directly from families and people still trapped in active addiction crying out for help. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel DrewCouver for the full long-form videos and the serious work I’m doing across this province.
@preta_6 Deinstitutionalization did not lead to the homeless (mostly drug addiction) crisis. Riverview only had 400 beds. What is mandatory “treatment”? What does that look like? Do a little more research and get back to me. @Cunnington50818@somerspsych
