@minis_for_war Just wanted to say that the red/white lighting for your soulblight gravelords article/promo is inspired. They look like they're coming out of icy moonlight to destroy a nighttime camp of the living. Incredible.
@CommonWealth_ca The weakness of this style of advocacy is that the opposite rule sounds just as tidy. "Men did not make the Earth, therefore it is not for man to burden its good and full use by tax. Let men tax only the efforts of men. --Some Guy"
@CommonWealth_ca Whatever gets people to support it, I suppose, but I think policies should be selected based on desirable outcomes, not their origin story, nor arguments that the policy's wording meets some kind of poetic aptness.
@necropraxis I have wondered about maps of rules and how they connect (e.g. by modifying or using the same quantity, like hit points), and I wonder if software complexity metrics (e.g. "afferent coupling ") would produce insights about hackability.
@cdl_concerts We had a great time but that intro spiel was downright dystopian. A "platform for accessible entertainment experiences" which is then performed by musicians without surnames feels like something crafted for investors, not audiences. Super weird.
If you're like me, you're always forgetting your tarot cards at home. What's a spontaneous GM to do? How to interpret a result with just dice?! Fortunately, even the humblest die has a secret etched on its surface: the Tarot of Pips.

@riseupcomus Literally it's the step before you move it into a more permanent form, carefully transcribing it from delicate parchment onto something tougher like your vellum spellbook.
@riseupcomus The form of 'scroll' that I like is this:
1. You sneak into the temple of whatsit, whose blasphemous priests are known to have supernatural power
2. On their altar are the dread runes etched by the spirits they pledged their souls to that explain how
3. Brass rubbing, baby!
Just watched The Night Eats the World (2018) and it's remarkably like Project Zomboid in movie form. It's like The Quiet Earth, just with infected trying to kill you. I enjoyed it!
@jasoncordova6 The two-person game of musical chairs at the basketball game seemed an odd choice until I realized there were probably a half a dozen producers dying with embarrassment at their great idea flopping around in a sad little circle in front of everyone.
@JamesIntrocaso Even my son says, "That's inevitable in a society that totally fails to support community child-rearing and leaves everything to isolated bread-winners." ๐ฎโ๐จ
