Zeroth Law- if two thermodynamic systems are each in thermal equilibrium with a third one, then they are in thermal equilibrium with each other. I.e. If ice is added to hot coffee they will reach thermal equilibrium and then in thermal equilibrium with the air. #2019ThermoUMBC

Taught my kids today that heat flows from hot to cold while drinking hot chocolate. We put ice in the hot chocolate cool it down. I told them the heat flows from the hot chocolate to the ice, melting the ice. They were amazed! #2109ThermoUMBC #2ndLawThermo

Students are creating new methods to measure & study Gibbs Free energy liquid metals by thermo processes. If liquid metals can withstand high heats, faster production of airplanes & extending the life of nuclear power could be possible #2019ThermoUMBC
