📈 In 2027 alone, ~2 MILLION digital debt notices are expected to be issued through the system. That means roughly 5,500 legally verifiable notices every single day at full annual run-rate.

⚖️ And this is not simply about issuing digital documents. Fubon is using #TuringCerts for debt notices where the system must prove delivery, arrival and legal receipt. #IOTA acts as an independent third-party evidence layer, allowing those electronic proofs to be legally recognized in #Taiwan and used before a court.

IOTA/TWIN could be about to cross a critical line: from verifying real-world trade… to financing it.

☕ A first financing transaction tied to a Kenyan coffee export could take place as early as October.

And this is where it gets interesting. This isn’t about putting coffee “on a blockchain.” It’s about something far bigger:

🏛️ institutionally backed data
💰 upfront financing for exporters
📈 yield for capital providers

In other words: real trade → verified data → financeable asset → capital → yield.

💵 USDT0 has quietly gone live on IOTA. What it is and what it could mean for IOTA.

📅 USDT0 has been live on IOTA mainnet since 17 September. We have yet to find an official statement from either USDT0 or the IOTA Foundation. The launch shows up in USDT0's own docs and in on-chain data on the Tangle.

🔎 What is USDT0?
▫️ A version of Tether's USDT stablecoin that moves across chains via LayerZero
▫️ For every USDT0, one USDT is locked on Ethereum. When USDT0 is sent back to Ethereum, it is burned and the locked USDT is released
▫️ The USDT0 website is run by Everdawn Labs. The underlying USDT is issued by Tether

🧭 What's different on IOTA
▫️ It runs on IOTA mainnet itself, not on IOTA EVM
▫�� IOTA has its own dedicated route: the backing USDT sits in a separate Ethereum vault used only for IOTA
▫️ USDT0 on IOTA can only move to Ethereum and back. To reach any other chain, it has to go via Ethereum first
▫️ Each transfer has to be confirmed by three verifiers: LayerZero Labs, USDT0 itself and Canary

📊 The numbers on the Tangle (24 Sept)
▫️ 1.27 USDT0 in circulation, backed by 1.27 USDT in the IOTA vault on Ethereum
▫️ Ten transfers between Ethereum and IOTA so far, all tiny amounts of at most 1 USDT from just three addresses. The most recent was on 20 September
▫️ On 23 September, a perpetual futures exchange created a vault to accept USDT0 as collateral. Nothing has been deposited yet

🚢 What the IOTA Foundation plans with stablecoins
▫️ In December 2025 it announced that a "leading stablecoin" would soon come natively to IOTA mainnet as a cornerstone for trade, finance and supply chains. It didn't say which one, and it has not confirmed that it is USDT0
▫️ ADAPT is a digital trade initiative led by the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, with IOTA as a founding partner. For ADAPT, the IOTA Foundation explicitly mentions payments with "stablecoins such as USDT" for faster, cheaper cross-border settlement
▫️ Once fully implemented, ADAPT could cut cross-border payment fees from 6–9% to under 3%, according to the IOTA Foundation
▫️ Kenya, Morocco and Nigeria, the first ADAPT countries, are set to test regulatory frameworks for digital currencies, including stablecoins
▫️ For Salus, a trade finance platform for critical minerals, the IOTA Foundation outlines how a smart contract could automatically release a partial payment to the supplier once goods pass inspection
▫️ To be clear: these are plans and examples. We don't know of any live stablecoin payments in these projects yet

🧰 What IOTA brings to the table
▫️ Sponsored transactions: an app can cover the fees, so users can pay in USDT0 without holding any IOTA themselves
▫️ Programmable transactions: up to 1,024 commands that either all succeed or all fail. That makes it possible, for example, to settle a payment and transfer a trade document held as a token on the Tangle in one operation
▫️ Add to that IOTA Identity for verifiable digital identities and IOTA Notarization for tamper-proof records showing that a document existed at a given time and hasn't changed since

💡 What it means
▫️ Technically, the groundwork is done: USDT0 can be used directly on IOTA mainnet and is backed 1:1 by USDT. Whether USDT itself is fully backed is a separate question, and one for Tether
▫️ With USDT0, trade documents, proofs and payment can sit on the same network, the precondition for the kind of flow the IOTA Foundation describes for Salus
▫️ Adoption hasn't started yet: no wallet or exchange we know of has announced support, and the USDT0 website doesn't list IOTA as a supported network yet

🧩 Bottom line: the road is built, but almost no one is using it yet. In our view, the potential lies less in speculation than in trade: settling payments where the trade documents can live too. The real test is whether actual trade starts running on IOTA. The IOTA Foundation has promised "major announcements" this quarter without saying what about. The quarter ends on 30 September.

Im November 2025 nahm die IOTA Foundation das Unternehmen Turing Space in ihr Business Innovation Program auf. Von solchen Ankündigungen gibt es viele. Der Unterschied hier: Man kann nachzählen, was daraus geworden ist.

🔸 49.720 Notarisierungen in den vier Wochen seit dem 22. August – im Schnitt rund 1.700 pro Tag, an einzelnen Tagen über 6.000, dazwischen Ruhe. Das Muster einer Stapelverarbeitung

🔸 139 verschiedene Ausstelleradressen, jede mit eigener Aussteller-DID. Das spricht für eine Mandantenstruktur: ein Anbieter, viele Institutionen dahinter

🔸 Und jetzt der interessante Teil: Im Tangle steht kein einziges persönliches Datum. Nur Aussteller, Empfänger-DID, Schema, Zeitstempel – und sechs Hashwerte der eigentlichen Angaben

🔸 Wer das Zertifikat besitzt, legt einzelne Angaben gezielt offen und lässt sie gegen den Hash prüfen. Alles andere bleibt verborgen. Die Einträge sind gesperrt und nicht mehr änderbar

Turing Space stellt digitale Zeugnisse und Nachweise aus. Laut IOTA-Blog hat die Firma Zertifikate für über 12.000 WHO-Freiwillige in 150 Ländern ausgegeben und mehr als 3,5 Millionen Herkunftsnachweise im taiwanesischen Ökostromhandel verifiziert.

Warum IOTA, sagt Mitgründer und CTO Henry Hang offen:

„IOTA's low-cost transaction fee model, combined with sponsored transactions, allows us to deliver a better experience for end users while scaling credential issuance affordably for large-scale enterprise."

Interessant ist nicht die Ankündigung von vor zehn Monaten. Interessant ist, dass daraus Betrieb geworden ist – und dass man es niemandem glauben muss. Im Explorer kann es jeder selbst nachsehen. 🔍

📘 Während alle über Kurse reden, schreibt ein #IOTA-Mitarbeiter an einem UN-Standard mit – und zwar nicht als Gast.

José Manuel Cantera Fonseca kümmert sich bei der IOTA Foundation um Handel und Standardisierung. Im offiziellen GitLab der Vereinten Nationen ist er beim UN/CEFACT Web Vocabulary der zweitaktivste Autor überhaupt. Vor ihm liegt nur der UN-Projektleiter selbst.

Die Zahlen, heute nachgezählt:

🔸 125 von 443 Commits über alle Zweige, 52 von 316 im Hauptzweig. Egal wie man zählt: Platz 2

🔸 14 der 50 gemergten Merge Requests stammen von ihm

🔸 Sechs davon hat er selbst gemergt, darunter einen vom UN-Projektleiter. Wer mergen darf, entscheidet mit, was am Ende wirklich im Standard steht

🔸 Im UN-Sitzungsprotokoll vom 25.08. übernimmt er zwei Abschnitte: „scalable architecture" und die Design-Prinzipien

Worum es geht: Dieses Vokabular fasst UN/CEFACT Buy-Ship-Pay und das UN Transparency Protocol zu einem gemeinsamen Wörterbuch für den Welthandel zusammen – sieben Bereiche, von Transport über Zoll bis Finanzierung. Wie wichtig das Repository dafür ist, sagt die Governance-Seite selbst:

„The master is this UN GitLab repository … The Turtle source there is the single source of truth."

Und das geht weit über IOTA hinaus. Wer künftig einen digitalen Produktpass auf den EU-Markt bringt, muss sich womöglich gesetzlich an genau solchen Vokabularen orientieren – die Governance-Seite nennt ESPR sowie die Batterie- und die Textilverordnung.

Ehrlich dazu: Er schreibt am Wortschatz mit, nicht daran, IOTA-Technik in den Standard zu bringen. IOTA kommt dort nirgends vor, und alle Begriffe stehen bislang auf „proposed". Aber mitzuentscheiden, in welcher Sprache der Welthandel seine Dokumente schreibt, ist auch ohne IOTA im Text eine Menge wert. 🌍
