Going home to the homestead brings nothing but delicious foods, wonderful friends, fuzzy pets, and smiles.
It feels like I never left, and I miss it so much.

It's time for a Tasty Tuesday!
This is one of my go to recipes. I do eat meat, but not as often as I used to when living on the homestead. Eating store bought chicken doesn't satisfy after you've grown and processed your own meat. (Or assisted in the process.)
It's pretty simp
Let's talk about student loan forgiveness. (And keep it civil.) First off, it is a good thing. But, it's not enough. The real issue? Predatory interest rates.
I've seen several good examples of why this is an issue, but the best I've seen is by a Dennis McDonald.

Let's talk about nature!
For the first part of my semester break, I camped my way up the east coast towards my Mom and my good friends in WV/PA.
The left picture is from a 7.2 mile hike from Table Rock, SC. It was gorgeous and probably the toughest I've done to date. Over 2000
Some pics from last weekend. I highly recommend the Dark of the Moon Ghost Tour in St. Augustine! The first part is a guided tour with the history of hauntings, and the second part is free time to explore on your own. Didn't see any ghosts, but had a great time!
Welcome break f
What are you thankful for this week?
1. I Got my car back yesterday! (Thanks Jeremy)
I've been waiting since May 8th to get my car back. It died 28 minute outside of St. Augustine during my move from PA. It's been a bear to get around a new town without your own car. Many than
My back pain is creeping back up again, so probably need to toss on a corset later today. Thankfully, they're cute.
My exciting news is that I did purchase some corsets that I should be able to get into without a "lady-in-waiting"' aka my poor roomie Sean. We're both stoked abo
Let's talk about jiu jitsu.
Jiu Jitsu is a predominantly ground-based martial art that uses the principles of leverage, angles, pressure, timing, and knowledge of the human anatomy, in order to achieve a non-violent submission of one’s opponent. Unlike other martial arts that
Definitely taking the time to enjoy the city and the company of my classmates this time around. Had a blast at the Farmers Market, Craft Brew Fest, and generally hanging around St. Augustine and Jacksonville this weekend.

Let's talk about weekly wins. It's always good to take a step back and think about the good things happening in your life.
1) My car is finally fixed! It has been dead since I moved to St. Augustine on May 8th.
I'm going to have to wait another day or two to get the car becaus
I haven't swam a mile steady since undergrad. Granted, this is no lap pool. Took me just under 30 mins which seems about right speed wise. 🤔
Swimming is highly recommended for people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I love it, but I have to consciously think about my right ankle
Let's talk about corsets. For me, they aren't just a fashion statement. My back pain was SO BAD this morning that I almost had to quit my run and head home. I was able to push through, but I wasn't exactly happy. I knew that I had to put on another corset when I got home to allow
Let's talk about surgical sterilization.
A salpingectomy is a surgical procedure where one or both of a woman's fallopian tubes are removed. It's performed to treat certain conditions of the fallopian tubes and ectopic pregnancies, and as a preventative measure for women at high
Sometimes you just have to get away from things for a minute and play with your appearance. 🤷♀️
This is why I love my haircut and septum piercing; I can easily go from 'professional' to 'relaxed.'
As a good friend said "that's some Witness Protection Program shit."
This past week or so has been fucking awful. But it's important to step back and think about things that are going well. Here are some of mine:
1. Pest problems at my new rental appear to have resolved
Moving to FL was a bit exciting. We walked into a flea and cockroach infes
Missing the mountains today as well as my old roomies and their critters.
My car should hopefully fixed soon, and I'll be able to visit them and the homestead sometime in between my semesters!

Let's talk about Roe v. Wade.
Also, let's keep this civil in the comments.
There's been a lot of information available, so be sure to check the information that they provide.
Let's talk about how this directly effects me as someone with an uterus.

Definite plus to having fun wrap around skirts is that you can make your athletic clothes look cute for breakfast with a friend, and then you can go running when the pharmacy doesn't have your meds filled!
