An amazing quote from this article. "Abolition is building the future from the present, in all of the ways we can." - Ruth Wilson Gilmore https://t.co/qV2ZgpWlC7
In the poetics of struggle and lived experience, in the utterances of ordinary folk, in the cultural products of social movements, in the reflections of activists, we discover the many different cognitive maps of the future, of the world not yet born. -Robin Kelly, Freedom Dreams
"My hope is that our next seven generations will grow up in a world where they will not have to choose one identity over another, and they will feel solidified in their identities and know that they were loved." - @carrchristmas https://t.co/53yfa7SAuY
Let's talk about futures that don't only make room for, but are created by Black-Indigenous solidarity. Let's talk about how reimagining (or maybe returning to old ways) of understanding our connection to land and place is foundational in these futures.

Leanne Betasamosake Simpson and I speak often about abolition & decolonization on Turtle Island as interlocking justice projects, about our communities' respective liberations as bound up in one another's. notably in this convo published in Until We Are Free (@BLM_TO) -
“I want you to know that it’s not frivolous to have dreams about seemingly small or pleasurable things; it is vital.
The world that I dream of is filled with ease.” @tourmaliiine https://t.co/DcKOEWtCYO
Thank you for those of you who contributed #andthen stories yesterday for our launch! We want to read more! What #futures are you inviting the world into? What futures are you hoping the world will see one day?
#andthen, interestingly soon after, as the model was replicated by large cities across the country, we gasped at our ludicrous beliefs. The Billions wasted to quell when the syphoned millions showed to be a greater help.
