I was on a date with the guy yesterday at a restaurant. We sat down, got our menus, and ordered. Then he causally asked if l'd go back to his place on our very first outing. I said no, I'm just getting to know you. He- immediately clicked, got irritated, and told me I could pay for my half of the bill. I smiled, called the waitress and asked her to move my meal to another table. I'm not sharing space with someone who thinks buying dinner entitles him to my body.
Normalize telling boys the stories of what women in the family went through. Boys seem to hear
"grandma makes the best turkey"
while daughters hear
"grandma was married at 14."
Tell the boys the cost of their favorite meals, too.
“But you survived”
I disassociate, like a lot.
My heart drops when someone raises their voice.
I shut down very easily.
I'm far too observant.
I always feel like a burden.
I isolate often.
But yeah, sure, I guess I survived.
