🆘🆘 😱😱😱😱- WITH SO MANY CATS ONTHE EPL - THE MEDICAL KITTIES ARE WAAAAYYY BEHIND ON PLEDGES - PLEASE CONSIDER THEM:🆘🆘

1. RINGWORM KITTIES - These kitties all have, a treatable fungal infection of the skin that can be itchy but otherwise harmless in minor cases like theirs. They require a course of Itraconozole, an antifungal medication that is taken by mouth every day for a few weeks.

2. FLUFFY MC FLUFF PANTS - Fluffy Mc Fluff Pants is a severely obese cat that has a poor quality of life in shelter. She is inactive and her appetite is intermittent. She also frequently has an increased respiratory rate, which is suspected to be related to her obesity and FAS. With placement, activity and an appropriate diet for weight loss should be prioritized.

3. TWIXIE - She has developed a severe upper respiratory infection that has caused many days of anorexia and weakness. – NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN SHELTER. She needs nursing care and a low stress place to convalesce.

4. OCELOT - He has a severe URI that has caused several days of poor appetite, lethargy and discomfort. He needs support and a stress free environment. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN SHELTER.

He needs a low stress environment and a surgery called a perineal urethrostomy to allow for comfortable urinations. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN SHELTER. This evaluation/diagnosis means that SIMBA will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

For a New Family to Know: Simba is a lazy couch potato! He is an independent guy who is friendly when he warms up. Simba is sometimes chatty but otherwise quiet. He can usually be found in the bedroom, living room, or sitting at the window. Simba is used to interactive playtime 3 or 4 times per day. He likes to fetch items and to chase and pounce on toys and bugs. He also likes to scratch on cardboard. Before he gets used to people and animals, Simba will hide in fear. He is used to eating all types of food and using a covered litterbox with scented litter. According to a prior owner, once he opens up Simba becomes a great cuddle buddy for human and dogs! ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

Ocelot tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. A volunteer writes: Ocelots in the wild tend to be low-key and shy, and our boy Ocelot has been that way since arriving at the Care Center. Unfamiliar surroundings, lots of new noises and smells--we understand his hesitation. But once this handsome guy has had a little warm-up time, his sweet vibe comes through, and his desire to make friends with humans emerges. Ocelot did nicely on his behavior exam, sniffing treats and leaning in for pettings. We just know there's a wonderful home out there for him where he can come out of his shell and show off his loving and loyal personality. Meet Ocelot at the Manhattan Care Center today! ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

She is extremely intelligent, highly social, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. She displays a very short threshold for touch, although soliciting the attention and can escalate to high levels of overstimulation and reactivity. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥

A volunteer writes: Astrid was abandoned in a carrier in front of someone's home and she's been trying everyday since then to explain that this doesn't define her. It's just that sometimes her words get jumbled up and her efforts and don't always come out the way she intends. Astrid still tries by doing what she knows best and that is being her friendly self and saying hello! Astrid loves to welcome visitors to Adoptions by rolling around to show her belly and reach her paws. Hellos through the door are great and are usually followed with some kitty conversation, or maybe some pets or some chirps but here's where Astrid gets a little confused on next steps. It's ok because this is where we come in. We've learned that Astrid loves, and I mean loves, our laser shows. Following the dot with hopes of catching it, with some treats to make up for the fact that she probably won't. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻
