I think the last 2 sentences of his tweet contain the real message. He's conducted a limited, symbolic airstrike (possibly after pre-informing the Iranians), and he gets to declare victory and immediately peace out.

I think the Iranians won't retaliate, and everybody might just go home happy (except Israel, but who cares). Iran gets peace, or at least no more direct US involvement in the war, Trump gets to pacify both sides of his base by claiming to be both the guy who "bombed Iran" and the guy who kept America out of the war, and Netanyahu gets nothing.

Makinde has already expended 76% of his time in office; he became governor in 2019 and will leave in less than two years.
