DJ’d every Saturday afternoon of June & July for average 4hrs every time. I’m so grateful to have had that gig in Palm Cay. Unfortunately that’s over for now, but excited for when I return
@rldged I’m new to it, but last night I played a few “genre requested” songs to see what the crowd was reacting, probably 5mins-10mins worth so out of 2hrs, it’s not a bad lack of energy to test the waters
1 downside of song requests, when 1 person comes up more than once asking for a song or genre bcuz they aren’t dancing but the crowd is, he/she tends to be the only one wanting to hear that stuff; & then the crowd energy kind of dies when you play that request.
@rldged When I’m already being paid by the venue I don’t like the “take tips to play a song” notion. Im already there to entertain the crowd & ensure they have a good time,
Funny story: I showed up 2hrs before my set, & the songs on my USBs weren’t being read by the CDJs for some reason. So I drove back home, exported tonight’s playlist to 3 USBs, & rushed back to the Club, making it with 20mins to spare. Thankfully it worked the 2nd time.
Tonight was so much fun! The tourists really seemed to be having a good time. I had Bond nightclub pumping. I played a lot of genres outside of EDM like Hip Hop, Rap, Latin; honestly never thought I’d DJ that stuff bcuz I don’t really listen to it.
