In 2 weeks, I will be releasing my game.
After working on it for 3 years, this feels so surreal.
This game is a journey through the dream I dared to dream.
#HardSurface Spaceship modeled in #3dsMax, fabric piece made with #Blender and everything rendered inside Blender with Cycles . Texturing based on ambient occlusion masking and triplanar projections. (And some decals to add detail.)

every once in a while, something awful happens to someone who’s said or done awful things, and a lot of people respond by reminiscing about how wonderful the person was to them
here’s the thing. I don’t think they’re wrong to do that. the eagle can befriend the owl
to draw from @nathanwpyle’s classic comic
it’s wrong to extend it. “they were good to me” does not mean “they were good to the world.” but people are complicated, and it’s not wrong to notice when you’re in a position to interact in a positive way with someone, even when that’s impossible for others
some conflicts are near-inevitable. not every exmormon can befriend every mormon; some mormons can be friends with almost no exmormons, and vice versa. repeat across all sorts of intractable divides, with real and long-standing grievances one or both directions
but someone doesn’t stop existing when you cut them from your circles. someone’s going to interact with them
is it callous to only notice the good and refuse to credit the harm? in normal times, yes—people can be excused for doing so in the wake of tragedies, but to extend the analogy, Pyle’s eagle shouldn’t act like the mouse has no reason to distrust the owl. but I fundamentally reject “this person is bad to some people, so no people should befriend them” as a guiding principle
if your interactions with someone are positive-sum, if both can become better by interacting—that is the standard
all this to say: I have no kind feelings towards the media personality who just suffered a stroke and I understand the impulse to react to him as he reacts to others, but I respect that some found real value in their interactions with him and I hope for their sake, and for his unborn child’s, that he recovers
That's it!

What if we set GPT-4 free in Minecraft? ⛏️
I’m excited to announce Voyager, the first lifelong learning agent that plays Minecraft purely in-context. Voyager continuously improves itself by writing, refining, committing, and retrieving *code* from a skill library.
GPT-4 unlocks a new paradigm: “training” is code execution rather than gradient descent. “Trained model” is a codebase of skills that Voyager iteratively composes, rather than matrices of floats. We are pushing no-gradient architecture to its limit.
Voyager rapidly becomes a seasoned explorer. In Minecraft, it obtains 3.3× more unique items, travels 2.3× longer distances, and unlocks key tech tree milestones up to 15.3× faster than prior methods.
We open-source everything. Let generalist agents emerge in Minecraft! Welcome you all to try today: https://t.co/1d3YocozsI
