@okayokay73668@Psychgirl211 You make a fair point. Some drag artists and performances are more derogatory than others. I don't have any issues with men wearing long, styled hair or makeup in general. It becomes a problem when they use them in conjunction with the things I mentioned to act out womanhood.
@okayokay73668@Psychgirl211 They don't just wear makeup and style their hair. They also wear fake breasts and butt pads to imitate the female body. Many speak in high-pitched voices and go by derogatory female names. This absolutely is offensive to many women, but no one takes it seriously.
@Chuttnise@Psychgirl211 So how about when drag queens wear fake breasts, butt pads, and speak in higher pitched voices? These are all imitations of actual female characteristics.
@muskyousir @Rob_ThaBuilder If drag queens only wore dresses and makeup, that would be fine. This issue is that they are impersonating women, hence the giant fake breasts and butts, female names/pronouns, and high pitched voices that are used in tandem with the regressive stereotypical stuff.
@jasminlaine I sincerely hope this isn't real, but it wouldn't shock me if it is. As a social science teacher, I believe freedom of thought and freedom of speech are essential for a robust and healthy society. What they've done is shameful.
@jasminlaine I am a teacher and voted conservative. There is so much corruption in our education system. People with conservative or even central political views are demonized. Teachers should teach critical thinking and encourage students to decide for themselves, not feed them propaganda.
@preta_6 Pun names involving Hamm and reality/biology:
"Hammer of Truth"
"Hammered In"
"Hammer Helix"
"The Binary Hammer"
Double meaning (asking the question of "why" women's rights were thrown under the bus and the Y chromosome):
"Y?"
Your trademark:
"I <3 JK Rowling"
@gablodian Ridiculous. Is it also reductionist to say that Black people are descended from Africa and have dark skin? Does that reduce them down to their skin colour? Of course not. It factually describes a group of people who have historically been oppressed based on those characteristics.
@Gibboanxious Gen Z here. It's a combination of bad sound mixing in modern media and the fact that I'm a visual learner. Even if I can hear a character's voice, I still can't always make out what they're saying. I miss less important details if I just put subtitles on.
@HazelAppleyard_ A male cosplaying as a woman and making a mockery out of struggles that only females have. What a disgrace. This would never be acceptable with any other marginalized group. Imagine if this were a white person cosplaying as black and acting out the struggles of a black person.
@dumbtwt7 Women and men are equal participants in sex. Terms like giver, receiver, top, bottom, and penetration all reinforce the idea that women are passive holes that men screw. Porn has made it even worse, with newer and more derogatory terms like cock sleeve and cum dumpster.
@sajna_off @blondiekowboy @corlvice Straight women are extremely sexually attracted to men's chests. The male chest & shoulders widen and become more muscular at puberty. Both men's and women's chests can be viewed sexually, so why the double standard? Both should be allowed to show their chests or neither should.
@TopherPatt I've seen men conduct in a similar manner. They are called "fun" and "passionate". When women do the same thing, we are "self-serving". Blatant sexism.
@InternetH0F Women do huge amounts of emotional labour for the people they care about. She is providing friendship and genuine human connection. He can talk to her openly about his feelings and problems. That is very valuable. Yet another example of women's strengths being undervalued.

@FondOfBeetles Male and female bodies are different. The male body is built for speed and strength, which is the focus of most sports. Female bodies have some physical advantages too, like more flexibility and better endurance over long distances. Sexual dimorphism is real.
@jk_rowling Women have been oppressed for millennia BECAUSE of our biology. We fought to prove that we are so much more than just our reproductive systems. By pretending that biology isn't real, we erase women's struggles. It's insulting. First-wave feminists must be turning in their graves.
@FlorioGina Tbh, I have never entirely understood what makes surrogacy so bad. Can anyone give me some of the reasons? I am asking in good faith and just want a conversation. I always figured that if the woman is well compensated and the baby goes to a loving home, that's all that matters.
@ask_aubry First of all, women work at jobs they dislike too. Second of all, people need to work to pay their bills. Third of all, while it can be difficult in some situations, you can leave a bad job. Just like how I'd leave a relationship with this man.
