@BNArchive Any more news on filling the gaps in the Voilunteer Servcie Gazette coverage? It's getting on for four year since I first raised this and have been repeatedly advised it's forthcoming... but nothing happens. This unique resource deserves full coverage.
@BNArchive Splendid news! It’s such a unique record of family, social & military history. For some researching their family it’s likely to be the only source to understand who their relatives served with and their experiences. It really does deserve as complete coverage as possible. Thanks
@BNArchive Any more news on the high priority given to closing the gaps in the Volunteer Service Gazette that I first enquired about in 2022? It is a unique reference and deserves as complete coverage as can be achieved. Hoping 2026 will see this completed… 🙂
@BNArchive That really is great news! Thank you. There is just so much that can be found in this newspaper for local, family and military historians. To have as complete a run as possible will be fabulous.
Dear @BNArchive, it's great seeing all the new updates, but two years now since you said 1878 and 1881 editions of the Volunteer Service Gazette were in the digitisation pipeline. This is a unique resource - when can this small gap be closed please?

@BNArchive Thanks for the update. It is such an important newspaper with unique coverage. The Volunteers were hugely popular during Victorian times. Despite the millions of pages of local newspapers, nothing matches the coverage of the Volunteer Service Gazette. 👍🙂

British Newspaper Archive is an invaluable resource and one of the gems available is the 'Volunteer Service Gazette'. @BNArchive it is still missing 1870, 1878 & 1881 to complete 19thC coverage from 1859. Any plans to add these missing volumes? Please...
@BNArchive Really hoping that the missing years of 1878 and 1881 of the Volunteer Service Gazette will appear soon. Please fill the gap in this unique resource. The information it contains is so valuable to military, social and family historians and can’t be found elsewhere. @BNArchive
