Season 20
Never really any doubt that we would win a second consecutive league title. To top it off, we also won both the European Cup and the FA Cup.
Not much left to win now, but we're also approaching the point where the game usually crashes so... π
Season 19
Despite a few weird results, we absolutely cruised to the title.
European glory is next, but not easy - all teams seem to be rated VG*** but play like they are top tier. This season we went out in the 1st round against Rhyl (0-1, 1-1)...
Season 18
An epic battle between Man Utd and ourselves all season, but unfortunately we fell short again. Only 2 defeats all season is hard to keep up with.
Beat Derby 1-0 at home in the League Cup semi 1st leg, then wasn't allowed to play the 2nd leg and lost 3-1 π€·ββοΈ
Season 17
Only Man Utd and Blackburn have a squad at our level, but had to settle for a disappointing 4th place as Man Utd ran away with it.
Lost in the European Cup semis against the eventual winners Red Star Belgrade.
Season 16
Had no money and a thin squad, but making so much money from gate receipts that I could soon rebuild a title-winning squad.
Lost FA Cup final, but won the League Cup after winning the first leg 2-0 - and then not playing the 2nd leg and just showing me the result π€·ββοΈ
Season 15
Was top of the league before the last game, but silly draws against Sunderland and Newcastle in the last two games proved costly as Villa pipped us to the title. Won the League Cup.
Was offered a new contract, but Arsenal came knocking too, so I couldn't resist.
Just to give an idea about the randomness:
First game of the new season
Chelsea (Champions) 0-3 Blackburn
Second game
Blackburn 0-2 Notts County (newly promoted)
Season 14
A bonkers season where the results seemed even more random than usual. Managed to hold onto 2nd place in the end.
Big upgrade on the goalkeeper position, not that it really helped.
Out of all cups relatively early, even the CWC that we somehow played in again.
Season 13
Would have matched last season's 2nd place finish but for a defeat in the last game. Then lost the FA Cup final too.
Drew 1-1 at home against LillestrΓΈm in the CWC QF (despite Barnsley winning the cup last season), then never played the return leg and they advanced π€·ββοΈ
Season 12
Never had to worry about relegation as we finished 4th and made the FA Cup finals.
Blackburn and Man City offered me jobs and I accepted Blackburn's after googling the capacity at Ewood Park to 31,000. In 1993 (in the game at least) it's only around 17,000 though π
Season 11
Most defeats in the league, but at least we got more wins than draws in the rest of the games to finish 15th.
Last year of my contract, might have to see if a club with a bigger stadium offers me a job at the end of the season if I want to progress.
Season 10
Avoiding relegation with this team, let alone finishing 8th, is absolutely sensational and the end of season bonus we get for doing it is laughable.
Some kind of fixture bug again as most teams only played 41 league games...
Season 9
Against all odds, we secured our survival in the Premier League with a very respectable 15th place finish.
Also managed to sign a couple of players without crippling the finances too much.
PS: Look at Newcastle scoring just 7 goals in 42 games!
Season 8
Er... Not sure how this happened. We somehow made the playoffs and then somehow beat Portsmouth (lost 2-1 away, won 2-1 at home, bug π€·ββοΈ) and Oldham in the final. Both teams with a Superb 1 star rating and much better than us.
Expenses/wages will soar. Income will not. https://t.co/yzosQTEuEN
Season 7
Not so limited by finances this season, so made a couple of purchases to put an extra star on the team rating and almost made the playoffs.
We're selling out the ground now, so this is as far as our income can go. Will probably go broke if we get promoted...
Season 6
A bit more leeway on the finances as the crowd poured in, and we strolled to a 1st place finish and promotion to Division 1.
A lot better on the goalscoring front as Stapleton was the league's top scorer with 18 goals.
Season 5
Got a few more people in the stadium so didn't struggle too much with the finances - as a reward we gave them a terrible season.
Too many games we couldn't score - exemplified by a defender being joint top scorer with just 10 goals.
Season 4
No new signings due to our finances, even had to fire my scout, sell my backup goalkeeper and take out a loan in the bank to keep us afloat.
Still managed to finish 4th - lost against Oxford in the playoff final.
Season 3
Made a couple of signings to add another star to the team rating, it was almost enough for another promotion. Lost to Swindon in the playoff semis. (A few teams missing a game again...)
Much like before, struggling with the wages+bills being bigger than gate receipts.
