Your social media apps have access to your microphone. Meta is also connected across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. X (Twitter), TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube run on similar tracking and engagement models.
If you have an argument with your spouse or complain about them with your phone around, or on WhatsApp, you can be 100% sure that you're going to start seeing content on IG, X, or TikTok that is all about how awful your spouse is.
As a female, despite my best efforts to affect the algorithm, I keep seeing unhealthy, angry and pessimistic anti-man content & comments from females. It's starting to make me nauseous. I've had to settle for fantasy and sci-fi memes. The same is happening on the male side.
There are people profiting off all of this. The algorithm is designed to jumpstart our emotions into overdrive so we are primed for advertisements. The job description of a content creator is to latch onto trends and monetize them.
Every marriage has conflict. But these apps are becoming platforms that amplify all the usual & normative conflict in a relationship and blast it out of proportion.

So here's some advice:
1.Recognize when an app is feeding you outrage that's your cue to close it, not scroll further.

2.Don't vent about your spouse in front of your phone or on chat apps; talk to them directly, or to a trusted person offline.

3.Curate your feed actively mute, block, and unfollow accounts that push anger or division.

4.Follow content that builds you up knowledge, humor, faith, skills not content that tears others down.
Remember: real relationships are worked out face to face, not through what an algorithm shows you.

5.Choose to be a source of positivity for others instead of adding to the noise.
