Professional radio amateur playing with DATV, microwaves and HamTV

[BATC Online @BATCOnline]

Dave Mann, G8ADM, who was the president of the BATC passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. He was well known in both in amateur and professional television circles. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

@GM0WHS @ARISS_Intl @Icom_UK Fantastic - really Looking forward to meeting some of you in 2 weeks time when I come up with @G3VZV to do the recce for the big day in October 😄

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

Bit of an early tease for CQTV 290 which will be dropping through email boxes in the next few days. As always a cracking read for both beginners and veteran ATVers. Members taking the printed copies should expect them posted out in the new year.

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

@g8kmh @24ghz @JLCCNC_Official I’ll send you an email!

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

@HockleyAdam Hi, yes I’m the keeper of BA. is there a problem?

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

@g1dfl_pete @BitternDXers Didn’t realise you were going up to Trimingham!

I was part of the Norfolk VHF contest group who won VHF NFD in 1982 from Trimingham 😃

[David Crump @davegkq]

@BATCOnline will have stand at HamRadio Friedrichshafen this Friday and Saturday. Please come and say hello to @davegkq and @Pa3fbx1. We’ll be opposite the @theRSGB stand.

[AMSAT-UK @AmsatUK]

CEPT is holding a public consultation on its draft DECISION (not Recommendation) re the 23cm band.
This will adversely impact amateur use of 1258-1298 MHz.
The deadline for comments is 11 April, see 'Draft ECC Decision (25)01' at

[Wick High School Radio Club @GM0WHS]

Important day for us today as we prepare to apply for an ISS contact @WickHigh. As we're so far north our highest elevation pass is 25° so we're trying to prove our received signal strength is high enough. S7 from the APRS signal. @ARISS_Intl

@bbcpress Sunday afternoons are never going to be the same ☹️ RIP Johnnie.

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

@G4SJH_Barry Blimey - that's well organised! Me, I just scribble it on a piece of paper which I'm lucky if I can find when I get home 🫢73s and HNY and may your DX be long in 2025😀

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

@Bobhamtv Hi Bob - lots of willing helpers from the ATV community on the BATC forum - just post your question there and I'm sure someone will help 😀https://t.co/GOjd9hVYFm

@RFconsultantUK @2m0sql Agreed, brilliant little camera with 2 way audio when used with smart phone app - got a couple for puppy monitoring, last one was £16 from Amazon.

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

@MehdiHacks Worth taking a looking at the @BATCOnline Portsdown test equipment suite here https://t.co/UZ5ZuW2Z7Z

6GHz signal generator, frequency sweeper and noise figure meter plus much more…..

The prime minister insists the "vast majority of farmers" will not be affected by changes to inheritance tax.

Sky's @pkelso breaks down the figures ahead of today's farmers protest in a very interesting analysis

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

You don’t see many of these around that are still complete these days 😉

[Noel Matthews @G8GTZ]

So it’s confirmed on the Countryfile weather forecast - Basingstoke where we live has seen the least sunshine of anywhere in the UK in the last 2 weeks - 21 minutes in 14 days, no wonder it’s been so depressing ☹️
Forecast looks good for tomorrow 🌅🌅😀
