🌱 We’re working toward regenerative agriculture! This month the Grad Committee featured an article in CSA News highlighting regen ag as a toolbox for improving agroecosystems, sharing success stories, and exploring what’s next. #RegenerativeAg https://t.co/HgZdCsyiYM
New research in SSSAJ explores the evaluation of tissue phosphorus concentrations as a diagnostic tool for phosphorus nutrition in corn. Read the #OpenAccess paper for free here: https://t.co/ubem4TVBn4
I am thrilled to announce that I have completed a Professional Certificate in Data Science from @HarvardOnline in collaboration with @edXOnline, thanks to @rafalab. #DataScience
This eUpdate includes a soil temp and moisture update, early fungicide applications for #wheat, stripe rust outlook, updated foliar fungicide efficacy ratings for wheat, revised soil test interpretations and fertilizer recommendations for KS, insect updates, and more! https://t.co/JlRxocTQVL
We are recruiting two motivated and enthusiastic GRAs to work on soybean production and conservation practices. Come join our team, a highly-ranked Department and University, and a nice community.

I am happy to share the first video of our #soilhealth journey as part of a @ncrsare Graduate Student Grant.
Whether you're a #farmer, a #student, or simply curious about the fascinating world of #soilhealth, this video provides insights into the #science that sustains us all!
#Wheat is considered a highly responsive #crop to band-applied fertilizers, particularly phosphorus. There is typically an increase in fall tillers and better root development with the use of starter fertilizer. For more on in-furrow fertilizers for wheat: https://t.co/4ktiNX4vPc
Outstanding days immersed in agriculture innovation at the Farm Progress Show, also visiting GDM and Bayer Research facility in Illinois with @agsaksu - K-State Agronomy Graduate Student Association.

With the world surpassing 8 billion people, how can we ensure a steady food supply? Fertilizer is vital in increasing yields while decreasing the resources needed for crops.
Gustavo Roa @_GustavoRoa of Kansas State University @KStateAgron @KStateRE will have a poster at #NCSFC22 on Evaluation of Plant Tissue Analysis to Assess #Phosphorus Nutritional Status in #Corn and #Soybean Check out the program at https://t.co/I46xnK5mDB

🧐 Did you know?
On Earth, there are 92 naturally occurring chemical elements, 18 are essential to plants and 15 of them are supplied by soils!
Soil health & fertility have a direct influence on the nutrient content of food crops 🌱

Collecting a representative soil sample may not be as easy as it sounds. Fields can vary across small areas depending on past production practices and other inherent soil properties. Get the most out of your soil tests. @SoilFertilityKS https://t.co/8uUP9iws2z
Soil NO3-N test can be affected by handling/storage. Submit samples ASAP, otherwise air-dry or place in a fridge at 40F or less.
Bryan Rutter @SoilFertilityKS shows what happens if samples stay in the truck cargo box for 2 weeks: almost 100 lbs N error!
