@overlook61@vitt2tsnoc Teachers paid hours are 8.30-3.30. Whereas other professions may clock off and not work for the rest of the evening most teachers work 60-80 hour weeks, have also been self employed and that’s not a cake walk
@its_lady_c Having worked in both I and many others returned to the state sector. Parents may be supportive in your experience but the independent schools were not. Glad you had a good experience, but do remember that teachers in the state sector go above and beyond more than you might know
@HamerJaq This weather will continue for the next 10-20 years like this at points in the year. we will have to adapt to its rigours including schooling in the best possible way. Adapting, upgrading buildings, funding is the only way kids will get an education when this happens again
@MrHeslingPE Totally agree, because ensuring that 30+ students are behaving, working, listening whilst learning values to make society stronger is incredibly easy. Sign up sheets at the door on your way out
@Fowler09IsGod@wombleway Resilience is taught but not supported at home. Schools have rules and boundaries that are abused and not supported by parents, schools and their decisions moaned at. Never happened 20 years ago, parents respected teachers and schools, we learned resilience because of it
@RebelHQ Yep that’s exactly what it means, love another day off whilst everyone else slogs at work. Not every school is off or is planning to be off, still have parents moaning that we are not closing, still have parents sending kids in without a water bottle or hat. Maybe look elsewhere
