The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.
And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry.

BREAKING: Republican Liz Cheney releases a BRUTAL attack ad against Donald Trump, calling him a "a risk America can never take again" in a video that is sure to infuriate the disgraced former president.
She points out that he is the "only president in American history" to refuse the "peaceful transition of power" and he "betrayed millions of Americans" by spreading the Big Lie after Joe Biden defeated him in 2020.
He watched on television as his Capitol insurrection unfolded and refused to take action to call off his supporters.
"There has never been a greater dereliction of duty by any president," says Cheney.
Retweet if you think that she absolutely nailed it!
Nurses provide life-saving care and comfort during our most difficult and trying moments.
With tremendous gratitude, we celebrate their sacrifice and service this National Nurses Day.
Caitlin Clark is a regular at @UIchildrens, spending time with any kiddo that requests a visit.
This one, however, came with an extra surprise.
Congrats to the 𝐀𝐏 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫, @CaitlinClark22!
This years NCAA Women's Tournament felt massive.
The fans. The ratings. The attendance. The hype.
It's how it always SHOULD have been so while I am happy, I'm not surprised. We've known this is what it is capable of and what it should be.
Invest in women y'all
Seeing how much the world accepts that it’s impossible to move on after watching CPR really makes me think about how we (medical professionals, especially those who work in Emergency departments) are expected to just move on immediately after a code.
Our prayers are with the University of Virginia community and the families of three students who died at the hands of a gunman yesterday. This is a constant reminder that we must do better in terms of gun safety laws in our country.
Doug and I are thinking of those who died and were injured in yesterday’s school shooting in St. Louis. Our hearts are with the families and brave first responders.
We must ban assault weapons. It’s long overdue.
