We are proud to have the support of @JonHaidt as we work to help to bring tech balance to our classrooms. This will greatly improve mental health & academic performance in UT schools! @utahsenate@utahhousereps@fox13@utahpta Add your support here: https://t.co/qVCepJGlwm
@ErinSpksLoudr@realericmoutsos I’m glad that’s your experience. We’ve searched A LOT for inappropriate content using a child account and have not received one notice from the school or district.
@ChrisInSLC@realericmoutsos I had typed up the search term prior to filming, so it was already populated in the search bar when I went to type. It truly only took me 3 clicks. We are two moms who recently discovered this accessibility on our kids devices. We have wrongfully assumed they are safe.
@Kevmagna Thanks for sharing! This has been such a disheartening experience for us. We would love to get more visibility to this issue. We are trying to let parents know that according to Utah state code parents have the right to opt their kids out of Chromebook use.
@GCBendixen@GovCox@JonHaidt Yes, this is what we have discovered. Many parents wrongfully, assume these devices their children are given at school are safe. They are far from safe.
@StratRedTM@VoteTrevorLee We are not blaming the gun. We are blaming the parent who sees no problem in letting their 3rd grader play at a home where loaded guns are out on a table with no supervision because they have “taught their kids correctly.”
@BradEBonham@VoteTrevorLee We have been trying to inform parents that according to Utah state code, you can opt your child out of Chromebook use and the district is required to provide the same quality of education to your child as those who have not opted out.
