@PCPappy Things I often see in Toronto
- having a drink in the park enforcement
- TTC fare enforcement
Things I never see in Toronto

It’s a war on the poor. If you have a car/house things are good.
@xj6response@DMacpGaz Works until you need the rest of the country to bail you out when the price of oil plummets...then the begging begins. Can't have it both ways.
@truthoverclicks@gmbutts I’ve seen a lot of horrible parenting - parents have no innate right to inculcate their children with hatred to others, drugs, or sexual abuse - all things some parents do, and why their children need to be protected from them.
@KelliDPowers@gmbutts Schools are designed to groom - that’s why they exist. What we have lost sight of is the common set of values that public schools are designed to inculcate. The splintering of public education is the root cause of the destruction of democracy.
@TheLawofWork The provincial Liberals started this trend, and governments seem to be willing to pay the price of acting illegally to achieve their goals. When the courts assign damages, they are often more expensive than a deal would have been, but the PR is apparently worth it.
A company that loses billions of dollars per year threatening to shut down if it is required to comply with MINIMUM labor standards is so on brand for 21st century gig companies.
