This is great.

During the 1976 Open, players used the Royal Birkdale clubhouse and locker room.

The club had a match against Formby the following week and posted their team on the notice board outside the locker room.

Tom Watson (then Open champion) wrote "Reserves" on the sheet and added his name.

Throughout the week more and more players added their name the reserves list: Nicklaus, Seve, Miller, Bobby Locke, Dai Rees.

The club framed the sheet and it remains in the locker room at Royal Birkdale.

I hate slow rounds but equally it is a sport to be enjoyed, not a race around a field with sticks and balls.
(Most completion rounds at my club are 4 hours give or take 10 mins)
