the same Alaric who is the father of Lizzie and Josie Saltzman, the twins that Caroline gave birth to,Caroline... Elena's best friend.
and Isobel is a descendant of Katherine, Elena's doppelganger

so Elena's biological mother is a descendant of Katherine, her mother's ex-husband dated her aunt, and that same man's daughters who Elena's best friend gave birth to but their biological mother is Josette

How am I supposed to explain this without sounding insane 😭
