In the 2010 World Cup Final, referee Webb missed a chest-high challenge by Nigel de Jong on Xabi Alonso in the first half, an incident he later admitted should have resulted in a straight red card...
But OURVAR didn't miss it! Check the analysis:

What if we had VAR in the 1982 World Cup Semi-Finals between Germany and France? 🤔
Goalkeeper Schumacher should have seen red for his criminal strike on Battiston - but not even a foul was given!
This infamous incident is considered one of the biggest ref mistakes in World Cup history!

An interesting red card case this weekend in the Brasileirão: a Remo player, while on the ground, grabbed his groin and made obscene gestures towards his Athletico-PR opponent.
Result: red card correctly applied after VAR review!

The law is the law, and the law states that a contact on the standing leg of the opponent, at that height, is a red. Period.
It doesn't matter if, in other cases, the refs also made a mistake; they cannot just decide that the rules of the game don't apply in certain situations...
AI VAR did a better job than the actual refs here:

Another day, another controversy in England - this time regarding United's second goal against Forest:
https://t.co/hlZnE3BqzH
Ref Salisbury, however, confirmed the goal after reviewing the images, as the rules for handball were updated for the 2025 / 2026 season:
Under 2025/26 IFAB Law 12, accidental handball is NOT an offence unless the arm is in an unnatural position OR the player immediately scores directly from the hand/arm.
Neither condition is clearly met here: Mbeumo doesn't score, nor is the arm in an unnatural position.
Controversy apart, well done on the ref team for following the updated rules and confirming this goal.

@bayer04_en Scandal penalty, Palacios pushed and hit Quansah 15s earlier, then Schick pushed, the ref was going to give the foul but decided against, then the cross, the penalty. Why does VAR only check the penalty situation and not the play given there were TWO fouls not given?!
