The beauty of this approach lies in the doors it opens. As we step towards repairing broken systems, we can renew our social fabrics. Let's weave belonging and justice together again.
Identity-based activism feels more powerful to me than an activism that is based on intermittent reactions to unfolding systemic events. When we change our idea of who we are and what our role is in the world, we are capable of sustained response and care.
Let's create proactive community identities that remind of us of our commitment to care for each other and the world, rather than act solely out of reactivity to broken systems.
