This will be my last post on the matter.
People called out Leni for accepting a courtesy call from the Israeli ambassador because they assumed that she stood strongly against Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza.
The visit was promoted by the social media account of Naga’s LGU, sending the message that the visitor and her country is being warmly received by the Mayor and the city she represents.
There is nothing wrong with people expressing their views on this matter, especially Leni supporters who expected more from her. To attribute malice or accuse those who pointed out the lapse as being DDS, Marcos loyalists, or Leftists simply out to discredit her, or a conspiracy of all these groups, is unfair and just plain lazy thinking.
Why not the same reaction for Mayor Isko, Belmonte or Duterte? Well, because people care and expect more from Leni than these others.
We may or may not agree that Leni should have handled that visit by an official of a genocidal regime better. But that doesn’t mean we should be disagreeable to each other.
