Thank you to the fellows, alumni, friends & @ENERGY staff that stopped by the #DOECSGF's #SC23 booth. It was THE BEST week of teaching, learning, networking & celebrating all who embody #iamhpc! We'll see you in Atlanta in 2024! @Supercomputing@doescience@NNSANews
Yesterday @umichgradschool had depts tell grad students who 'd been told they qualified for the summer 12k that jk, qualifications changed & u dont qualify anymore. ppl turned down other funding bc they were told theyd get the 12k. this is y we need it in the @geo3550 contract.
We have learned that, in their rush to dock our pay, U-M Admin denied medical leave to a grad worker about to undergo chemotherapy for brain cancer (even with their extensive documentation). This is emblematic of @UMich's treatment of us throughout this campaign.
This is where we are at... we will be back next semester fighting for a living wage, accessible bargaining & so much more! Wishing GEO members and allies a restful break --- coz next sem looks like it's gonna be a #WildLaborWinter.
GEO's GSIs graded The Record's report on our negotiations w/ UM. We docked points for bad math & poor evidence.
Let's be clear: transparent negotiations, accessible to all members are essential

A thread about using color as a design tool in science presentations. Color is a great tool to separate different categories of information, to highlight information, or to establish an emotional tone. 🧵1/20
