Today is one of the darkest days in Saudi history.
Yet I find it really hard to understand how things got to this stage.
Five days ago, Ansar Allah declared a total air blockade of Saudi airspace.
In simple English, they announced they would bomb International Airports across Saudi.
Saudi didn't close a single airport.
Nor did they increase security.
Everything continued to operate as normal.
Then Ansar Allah bombed King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport.
After that, they bombed Abha International Airport.
Civilians died.
Then Ansar Allah bombed Aden International Airport.
More civilians died.
And then Ansar Allah bombed King Khalid International Airport.
Several people died including a captain from Saudia Airlines.
Yesterday, Yemen's military spokesman issued a final warning to aircraft flying to Saudi.
Still nothing changed.
Airports continued to operate normally.
And today, we have a mass casualty event.
How on earth did international airlines continue flying passengers into what had been declared a target?
Keeping airports open despite repeated bombings was a war crime.
Continuing to operate flights to Saudi despite the multiple warnings was another war crime.
Today's deaths could have been entirely preventable.
It's a shame.
@mattyp@bot The problem I see is it works only in the US/Canada... difficult to automate it in Switzerland. Not impossible, but difficult. Very interesting though.
The crux of AI is you never completely finish an artifact to the point it is shippable. It becomes bigger and bigger and you get distracted building another idea ๐ญ๐ฎโ๐จ
