@Paleonyx_Art If he or likeminded folks follow this approach, they can absolutely make incredibly compelling movies for hunan characters where dinos are involved in some way, keeping their newly “special” status that I think was achieved, and still involving the core “genetic power” concept.
@Paleonyx_Art Before this interview above, he even said in another and his website, one of Rebirth’s goals was to make dinosaurs special again, rather than portray them as an everyday life or urban menace.

@omegafreelancer It was never planned. Just merely used to get visual ideas to decide something, just like plenty of dinosaurs in their concept art. That’s what concept art really is about, even for finalized decided designs.

If they have names of what they’re supposed to be besides something generic, then they would be added. If they don’t and are meant to be totally generic, then it’s a no-go.

To add to it, I don’t believe the JWE games will ever add generic species, even if technically genetically engineered (ex: the locusts from Dominion) or prehistoric (ex: presumably the lampreys also from Dominion, and it’s said the JWR “eel” is more lamprey).
@romeulanches@TiamatBackup Like, if Peloroplites, Teratophoneus, or Mononykus ever do get included, don’t expect them to look exactly or closely to their respective prop designs.
@romeulanches@TiamatBackup I think it’s more of “living on-screen species” only, and not dead or prop-only species to warrant a game appearance.
Like, there’s no screen-accurate Stegoceratops or Concavenator, so I won’t expect any dead-only appeared to match their screen looks.
@johann122004 What fan wanted: Everything that made WWD special (presentation style and nostalgia), but bigger and better, additionally with up to date science and more big famous species (ex: Spinos).
What they got: A completely different kind of series, even with the last two positives.
@Paleonyx_Art@fireredgoji@JW_Evolution Conclusion: the best, only “redesigns” you can get are feathered versions of the same thing (excluding the film stuff) if decided, and that’s it. JWE2’s Ankylodocus was likely a one time exception too.

I think Deinonychus was the only one planned for some “special treatment” because they decided to give it feathers and that’s it. Nothing to do with ugliness hated by fans. Because even the feathered Deinonychus is virtually the same thing, even with mesh differences.
@MundurEy98239@FredtheDinoman Yes, they’re still based on the Jurassic World Allosaurus no doubt. They just didn’t “reuse” the 3D asset mesh itself. Something may still have been reused in some way (maybe the skin texture, because the direct consultant didn’t have input on that), just not the mesh itself.
@ColinM_Art@TM9380@SouthApe You guys all need to calm down. The musculoskeletal model is ground-up new and I watched its construction in stages. Idk what ILM did for the skin textures. It's quite possible that they used existing assets. Either way, they have an extremely talented team who did a great job.
@Sketchy_raptor Again, can’t say the same for Osk Street’s allo, because there’s no confirmation. I’m just guessing it’s the same because of what the Netflix paleo consultant said.
@Sketchy_raptor What I mean is they didn’t “reuse” the same model asset itself, they just made their dinosaurs look similar to each other from scratch, deliberately or not.
@Sketchy_raptor Now, that’s for Netflix’s Allosauruses, specifically. Can’t say the exact for the Oak Street dino, but I’d guess it’s the same case as the former.
