Toby's in the unenviable position where so much time has passed between Deltarune chapters that people have built up expectations of the story in their minds that probably won't be met. The worst part is there's no way to undo this.

update 1 month later! postgame + mega dimension have just improved my opinion p hard. have spent waaay more time in-game and something's clicked more. i think the L and Zygarde fights helped a lot, and ive been having a blast with more rogue fights.

this might sound insane but its ok. i think my core (no enforcer) issue was the combat. rlly i didnt find it to be all that, aside from rogue battles

characters and music and new megas are great tho. ill see how i think abt it as time goes on and into postgame

and doubly insanely i think having played this directly after a fangame with a bazillion years of dev time behind it and more engaging fights (imo), it just contrasted p heavily in my mind. i still had an enjoyable time with it
